Essex Inter Club League

Latest News

Round 4 of the league was hosted by Chelmsford AA, with sections at Boreham Black Bridge, Paper Mills and one section upstream of Hoe Mill. It was forecast to be a very wet day and the forecasters were not wrong as rain fell most of the day.

The water was fast moving which coupled with a strong breeze later in the day meant presentation was not easy.

This did not deter Danny Mason who again showed his class on the river after winning last week Chelmer Championship and the previous weeks Essex Match League, he made it 3 wins on the trot on the river. His 9.10.0 of quality roach on bloodworm opposite the lake below boreham black bridge enough to win the day. 2nd was Russ Samuels who is also having a good run on the river, he had 9.2.0 from further down Boreham again caught on bloodworm, 3rd Place went to Does Steve Root who was also in B section downstream of Boreham.

On the team from it was a close affair with Does coming out on top with 36pts followed in joint second place by CAPS Red and Braintree. The league continues to be close with only 2.5 points separating the top 4 teams with 2 matches to go.

The Individual KO is now down to the last 4 with Colin Moran of Billericay the only angler who can stop a CAPS Red winner. with Bob Davis, Andy Howard and Paul Connell all of CAPS Red making up the last 4. Paul Connell has also put a little daylight in the ind points situation after another section win he is now 4points clear of the second place but with previous winners Danny Mason and Mark Banks in second and third its all still to play for.

In the team KO final - Does beat Braintree.
